New Delhi: The labelling separates the stigmatized group—“them”—from “us,” resulting in discrimination. Countless marginalized groups experience stigma, and many individuals experience amplified intersectional stigma because they belong to more than one marginalized group.
New Delhi: Today is the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day. Autism Awareness Day is observed annually on April 2 to raise awareness of autistic people all over the world. This day is observed to promote greater awareness of autism and acceptance of autistic people in all spheres of life, including the workplace.
March 31, 2023, was Transgender Day of Visibility. The purpose of this day is to honour the transgender community's resilience and accomplishments. This day is intended to honour the transgender people among us, bring attention to the challenges they experience, and campaign for greater protected rights for them to change society and empower this community, as it rightly deserves.
